🌟 Conscious Creativity at WOW!house 🏡
This week, we had the pleasure of visiting the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour to experience WOW!house, a spectacular showhouse featuring 19 full-size rooms and outdoor spaces. Each space is uniquely crafted by world-class interior designers in collaboration with globally recognised design brands and incredible suppliers.
Scroll through for some of our favourites - a chandelier made out of old plastic bottles, flowers made from aluminium foil (an infinitely recyclable material), and a sofa made without glue or nails ♻️
We were inspired by insights from @Benedict Foley, Lisa Montague (Group CEO of Sanderson Design Group plc. Group), and Amy Nelson-Bennett (CEO of @Positive Luxury) during their session on 'Sustainability By Design', moderated by Charlotte Abrahams. Here’s our highlights:
Sustainability is a Creative Opportunity: Businesses often overlook the vast potential for creativity in sustainability. It's time to shift our mindsets and embrace this challenge.
Engage Customers with Sustainability Stories: There's a lot of great work already being done, but it needs to be better shared. Businesses need to engage their customers with their sustainability efforts.
Early Conversations: Bring sustainability into early discussions with clients, ask questions to your suppliers during onboarding, and collaborate to create better outcomes.
Long-term Thinking: Moving away from short-term trends requires self-discipline but is crucial for sustainable design, we need to create a buy less, buy better mindset across all consumers.
Creativity within Constraints: True creativity doesn't require additional consumption. It thrives within structured parameters, going hand in hand with sustainability.
Curiosity in Consumption: We should be as curious about the origins of our interiors as we are about our food and clothing. Ask questions and be mindful of what you consume in all aspects of life.
