Digital product passports

23 May 2024

Have you heard of driving transparency through digital product passports? 🛂

Digital product passports (DPPs) serve as digital identities for physical products, containing crucial data such as a products origin, materials, environmental impact, supply chain and disposal guidelines.

They improve transparency, sustainability, traceability, product quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and can empower consumers to make better purchasing decisions and help to facilitate the shift to a circular economy.

Legislation in the EU will require brands to start sharing digital product passports for products including batteries and vehicles, textiles, electronics and ICT, furniture, plastics, construction, and chemicals. The implementation timeline for this legislation is yet to be confirmed but will likely run from 2026-2030.

It’s time to start preparing DPPs for your products now if you haven’t already ⏳
